I have heard his name pop up in my feed often and I wanted to do some digging more about the man.
If in the end Trump does not run in 2024 (which I hope he does) is DeSantis a viable candidate we can all get behind? Ever since Nov. 3rd I am weary of any Republicans now, as I have come to the conclusion that a lot of those people are not on our side. I am more of an advocate of a 3rd party being created. And in the end, I believe this is the path that needs to happen in order to get people who we put in office to actually care about what they are doing.
I have become more interested because I just got a new job down there and I am planning on moving as we speak.
I will do my own research into this, myself but I was wondering if any of you know of some details I may not be aware of (good or bad) that I should keep in mind.
I am not a mod, but I feel this needs to be said right now:
I am seeing accounts coming in and saying a lot of shit on different posts right now. What I want to say is don't let this get to you ..
These people wanted to create accounts and wait for this day to come and say whatever they had weighing on them for months or even years. Don't let these people get to you.
Just know who is in control here. They are the ones who chose to have their own headspaces to be preoccupied by us. They have nothing better to do than to help TheDonald.Win to continue to boost its analytics by taking part in its traffic.
Stay frosty out there, people. We need to keep having mental fortitude, especially now.
Things are looking grim with everything I am hearing on the news about many different things. And so I am trying to do my part in trying to keep things (at best) as upbeat as possible. And so I wanted to ask the community, "If you had to relate our situation to a movie, or if you want to relate it to a movie scene that perfectly encapsulates where we are at in this point in time, what would it be?
My choice would be at the end of the Empire Strikes back, where the Rebel Alliance is seen in space convening together for a bit, but then you see some ships go their separate ways until they reunite again in Return of The Jedi. And I believe this has some true points for us right now because 1) The Empire did strike back, and 2) It seems right now we are not sure what direction we all need to take at this point. And so we are all going our separate ways to figure out what we need to do until we all meet up again to retake the power back. And hopefully to crush the Evil Establishment once and for all.
And so, if you want to chime in and try to pick a good movie that describes where we are at, then, by all means, join along. As I said, this is all for bringing some spirits back up in the community and trying to have some fun in a team where we all need to try to find some positivity.
And if that source of positivity is dorky or a little cheesy .. so be it. At least you will be happy in the end.
Personally, I feel this is a concession by Trump on his stance on re-opening the economy.
Like, I agree with some people on here saying this will encourage more of these governors to keep locking things down. But at the same time, if plans down the road are to re-open things immediately then I can see this being a mini-boost for people to get their feet underneath them before they begin to re-open their businesses. Because the initial opening for people can be slow for them to make a profit.
I'm curious what some of you think about this?
It seems like what everyone else has said .. no one really cares about the Constitution anymore.
It really is sad that the things this country has stood for so many years are beginning to be unraveling now.
So basically the Texas case is suing MI, GA, WI, and PA because they went against their own legislatures by not voting on these voting changes. But rather having their own courts push these changes themselves.
But wouldn't Texas also sue other states that did the same thing? And because of this would the US Supreme Court see this and throw out our case because of this? Or, would the Supreme Court add on other offenders who were guilty of the same act?
Preferably, if I can get a legal pede to walk me through this I would appreciate that.
