I interpreted it as he convinced himself that he enjoyed it, a common rationalization among abuse victims, and mixed it with his cynical, dark, dismissive humor. He made a statement about older men "teaching" younger gay men about being gay. Some interpreted this as pro-pedo. He never said an age but i can see how some would come to this conclusion.
I personally think he was an abuse victim that buried his pain underneath many layers of drugs and cynicism. I think his deplatforming made him confront it. Hopefully he is doing well. He did go from being A-list to D-list almost overnight and is likely a bit bitter about it
