I completely understand that standing for the anthem is a way to show love and respect for this country. However all the politicization of it has cheapened the meaning of what it means.

The reason I love this country is because it is a beacon of freedom even if it does not feel like it right now. The worst thing that happens to someone who kneels is a few dirty looks and a lot of angry people.
