So here are my thoughts on where we can try and go from here. First, we know there will be an ideological purge, but remember that McCarthyism was a thing? Clearly the Communists survived that and hopefully we will be able to as well. The main issue is we need a source of funding to effectively do that. Here are the options I see:

1. Do what they did over time This means go into politics (start low and build up), go into the cultural institutions, and go into the unelected parts of the government, there will probably be something like brainwashing but resistance is possible. The next three options are less desirable.
2. Try again the next time around. We all know why this is undesirable. They can just cheat again, not to mention that, other than Trump, we do not have a clear person to run.
3. Secession
4. Civil war (or other violence) 3 and 4 would be difficult to pull off due to us not controlling many channels of communication and public support could be an issue.
