Asking about a "peaceful transition of power" may have made sense if it was a very close race. But the fact is that they knew Trumps rallies were enormous and Biden couldn't get 25 people to attend his rallies.
They should not have had the confidence to talk about transition of power. Unless they had a solid plan that they knew would work.
Why the heck would they talks about a candidate committing to a peaceful transfer of power before anyone even know the elect results? And when the candidate in question is extremely popular.
It tells me they were thinking "we got this. We just need to get Trump to tell us if he'll go peacefully or not".
