a) Kobe shouldn't have tried to make an unsafe flight, but just had to go watch a basketball game across town (and couldn't be bothered to drive)
b) Pilot should have refused.
c) If not (b), pilot should have filed an instrument flight plan and not tried to get a 'pop-up' IFR clearance (after he was in the air / clouds)
d) if not (b) and (c), pilot should have declared an emergency and/or performed an emergency landing rather than fly into clouds while trying to maintain clear of LAX airspace

Obesity is a great and seemingly successful alternative - after all, everyone needs and wants to eat. It’s not hard to engineer foods to make us crave them and overindulge.
I don’t think you can accurately make that claim - your stats show 22x adult men vs 21x adult population.
Without knowing the infection rate of the adult population, it can’t be demonstrated that the rate is higher for gay men than prostitutes.
