In an odd-numbered year, a vacant Senate seat is filled via special election, and the minimum number of signatures to appear on the ballot is 5000. 5000! That's it. That's a fairly low threshold for a MAGA candidate to make in a red state. Even if we entertain the idea that Cruz were allowed to serve out the remainder of his term, the possibility for a RINO or Democrat to take the seat after doesn't go away, so that's kind of moot.

Ted Cruz threw Trump under the bus... twice. What the fuck else do you need him to do before you recognize he's not a MAGA candidate?

1. Liberal media or personality creates a new narrative by rebranding a concept or event using a ridiculous, absurd word or association. (Examples include Omar’s “Some people did something”, WaPo’s “austere religious scholar”, Trump’s “very stable genius”, Time’s “election fortifying”)

2. Conservatives endlessly repeat the new rebranding because they’re struck by the inanity, or because they amuse themselves with sarcasm.

3. New, rebranded word is more proliferated than old word and occupies our culture and collective awareness.

4. Old narrative gradually dies out.
