Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent -- the 40 days (not including Sundays) between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday is a day of reflection and repentance from sin, and the start of the Lenten fast.
If you haven't experienced the benefits of intermittent fasting and 40 days of discipline and prayer, I highly recommend it.
