Haha, thanks. I like that story because I see it as the day I got fed up and found my balls. While I don't go looking for trouble I won't put up with shit anymore. Alright, story time. I went to the movies once with a girlfriend to see The Conjuring 2. I was never really into horror movies before but I found myself really getting into the atmosphere.
Unfortunately some drunken teenage wankers were in the front row talking, laughing, throwing shit at each other, just generally being a nuisance. It went on for almost half the movie and I was getting more and more agitated. I finally decided that next time they do something annoying I'd walk outside and get an usher!
Then I realised that the usher would likely be some 16 year old kid who'd come in and politely ask them to be quiet. I thought "fuck it, if nobody else will do anything then I will."
So I stood up, shuffled past a bunch of people to the end of the aisle and walked down to the front of the theatre. Now I'm a fairly well dressed guy, usually in a button up shirt, I'm not very big or imposing and I'm only three or four years older than these guys, tops. So when I get to them they all giggle, thinking I must be staff come to sheepishly ask them to stop.
Nope. I stand right in front of them, lean down with my hands leaning on my legs so I'm level with them, like I'm talking to children, and just state,
"Shut up, or GET OUT."
They were completely stunned. I just stared at them for another few seconds, smiled, then walked back to my seat past a few dozen smiling faces. And they shut up. There wasn't a sound out of them for the rest of the film. One of them even came up and apologised afterwards.
The point is these people have simply never been pulled up on their actions, so when I did they were totally dumbfounded. It's not even like it was a good dressing down, but I guess it was public enough that they felt the sting of humiliation.
