There is also this treaty https://www.congress.gov/treaty-document/106th-congress/16/document-text that allows the President to openly say, investigate X matter or we will not provide aide. So even if there was a textbook Quid pro quo, it’s still 100% legal, thanks to Slick Willy.

This UIA plane was pretty solid. the -800 version. Flown in just about all airlines around the world.

My guess is someone in the IRGC aloha snackbarred this jet shortly after takeoff with a shoulder fired SAM thinking it was the great satan coming to bomb them. They put those shoulder fired SAM's pretty far down the food chain with little to no command and control. These shoulder fired SAMs do have the capability of knocking out a plane like the 737.

UIA pilots are pretty good and the airline has a good safety record. So I don't believe the engine failure BS that Iran is officially spouting.

Is there any mechanism of demanding voter ID in the USA, that Trump is even at all involved in?

Voting requirements are decided by the state right? And then to enact some sort of federal "requirement" or "minimum standard" that includes ID, I'd imagine it has to pass the House and Senate.

Then the states will fight it in court.

So unless Trump can do this via executive order (which would still be fought in court) this is a battle that will take years.

They need to get started yesterday.
