China is our chief rival. Our best option is to work together with Russia against them. Certainly it's not necessary, provided we are not open to them, to be in open conflict. China is an enemy. On this point you will find no agreement. But, China's danger to the United States is a function of the US's willingness to entertain them. If it decides to, they can be very dangerous. It's true that the Cathedral is the reason WHY they are currently such a dire threat, but to argue they are no threat at all (nor Islam) is to ignore reality.
