The number one reason Delaware LLCs are used in my city is to hide payoffs to politicians and well-connected folks. It is the only way to get around disclosure laws on the city's books. Two separate lawsuits showed that the Delaware LLCs are impenetrable by the public.
In California you have to fill in a form with your name, address, date of birth and phone number. Then they put the ballot number on the form.
So the state is compiling a list of names connected to their ballots creating for someone a useful database.
The boys that control San Diego made a push to get MCRD in the 1990s. Then they pushed it in the 2005 BRAC round to close but Retired General Hoar squelched that. Instead Navy Broadway was added to the BRAC list and given to a Doug Manchester Delaware LLC, who fronts for the group mayor/senator/governor Pete Wilson steers.
There was an article in military.com about closing Parris Island and MCRD. South Carolina senators made a fuss but radio silence out here. Commandant of Marine Corps stated in San Diego Union Tribune that he was willing to close MCRD.
California San Diego / San Diego Measure lifting height limit
- Vote NO. Measure E is a bipartisan scheme to steal public lands and payoff usual suspects through Delaware LLCs. Lifting a citizen-created 30' height limit law to make it immensely profitable for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot to disappear. Current republican mayor Faulconer is teaming with front-running democrat mayoral candidate Todd Gloria to pull this off.
