It's more than just locusts that have been ravaging through western China for months. They're also having record rainfall and major flooding down in South Central China around the Yangtze River basin (where the Three Gorges Dam is) and there's also a media blackout about that too.

Add Covid to the mix and it's been a disastrous year for China already
