Hey guys, like the title says, I was wondering if any STEM Pedes were on here. I used to communicate on Reddit with a math Ph.D. who provided good conversation about a variety of topics. But he was a raving Democrat in his comments outside of our conversations and I always felt afraid that he would look at my comment history one day and blow up at me, ruining a good thing. I realized this wasn't a healthy arrangement and eventually I deleted my Reddit account all together. I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in chatting about STEM (preferably math/engineering) topics on here.
I'm mostly self-educated, have been teaching myself math (up to functions/advanced functions now) and I've been learning physics as well. I plan on starting aerospace engineering once I have my pre-reqs in order at a university. Although I have a wide variety of interests across the STEM spectrum. Thanks in advance. If you don't feel comfortable replying to this topic directly, feel free to PM me.
Okay everyone, we're all well aware that we're in a cultural war. In 2008, they struck first, then in 2016, we counter-punched. Now, in 2020, they punched back. So, where do we go from here? These are my thoughts on two topics I feel are critical to our success in the future.
EDUCATION
”No one more sincerely wishes the spread of information among mankind than I do, and none has greater confidence in its effect towards supporting free and good government.” - Thomas Jefferson
We all acknowledge that in terms of traditional educational institutions, the left have been dominant. A lot of our fellow pedes with children, have made the jump to homeschool, which is fantastic. However, this not only isn't feasible for a lot of families, it's also difficult to ensure that children are getting quality education. I sincerely believe that everyone has some form of knowledge that is of value to others. With a community and movement as wide and large as ours, this is a powerful tool that we can leverage. I'm not 100% sure on implementation yet (I was personally going to start posting some videos on Minds for example), but I think we can all create resources on topics within our realms of specialty that are of high quality. No matter how innocuous a skill, it deserves to be shared with everyone. Think of the revolution in education that came with Khan Academy (Sal Khan has been critical of the traditional "push everyone through like cattle" model for a long time), and its focus on creating curricula based on mastery learning.
We need everyone to be the best they can be if we want to succeed and that means being well rounded, from philosophy to natural sciences, mathematics to military science. Even cursory knowledge of these topics deepens the pool of information you can then apply to shaping our world view to something effective and positive. Think back to right around election night. Teams of pedes were working overtime to collect as much evidence as possible and filter through it to find actionable items. The amount of knowledge and skills alone in those individuals would have an exponential impact on our community if they were shared among us. Analyzing the flaws of the swamp from rational, scientific and objectively provable points of view, that's how we change the minds of others. Being a warrior isn't enough in a battle of hearts and minds, we need to create a society of warrior poets. And we need to build that with ourselves first.
MILITIAS
Building off the idea of building a society of warrior poets, militias are important. Now, to the FBI/NSA/Alphabet Boi reading this, I'm not talking about what you wish I was talking about. We need to support and build rapport with our neighbors. We need to go out of our way to offer them help, to build relationships. This could be isolated to my personal experience (and this might even be just a millennial feeling), but I feel like our world has distanced us physically from our neighbors. It isn't enough to talk about Making America Great Again. We must work to make it great in our immediate area first. Approach your neighbors, form militias with them, help each other. There are so many issues in our society that could be solved simply by caring for one another. Build up fitness together, drill, train, whatever it takes to become the embodiment of the modern day Minuteman. While simultaneously building our communities and leaving positive impressions where ever possible. BLM/Antifa et al. burn down their neighbors. We win them over by building them back up.
Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, feel free to share. This was just some late-night thinking and putting thoughts to text.
PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.
As a long and violent abuse of power is generally the means of calling the right of it in question, (and in matters too which might never have been thought of, had not the sufferers been aggravated into the inquiry,) and as the king of England hath undertaken in his own right, to support the parliament in what he calls theirs, and as the good people of this country are grievously oppressed by the combination, they have an undoubted privilege to inquire into the pretensions of both, and equally to reject the usurpations of either.
In the following sheets, the author hath studiously avoided every thing which is personal among ourselves. Compliments as well as censure to individuals make no part thereof. The wise and the worthy need not the triumph of a pamphlet; and those whose sentiments are injudicious or unfriendly, will cease of themselves, unless too much pains is bestowed upon their conversion.
The cause of America is, in a great measure, the cause of all mankind. Many circumstances have, and will arise, which are not local, but universal, and through which the principles of all lovers of mankind are affected, and in the event of which, their affections are interested. The laying a country desolate with fire and sword, declaring war against the natural rights of all mankind, and extirpating the defenders thereof from the face of the earth, is the concern of every man to whom nature hath given the power of feeling; of which class, regardless of party censure.
