Seems like all party is suck at this, so much money spent on wars why not build more housing or residences to help the homeless and poor.

I doubt she will get enough votes with Joe Manchin saying he won't go ahead, its going to be 51 against.

Oddly enough the progressive left are happy about this (they hate her too).

I wonder if they will pick someone just as bad to replace her pick.

First not an Idiot, second that sentence made no sense. No ones talking magic talismans here... What are you even talking about?

Lying Ted really messed up, his state is in the largest emergency facing Texas in as long as I can remember, and he goes on a fucking vacation, you have the idiot democrats laughing all over him and the Texas government for this mess about the power grid. He should have been, making calls, organising donations, getting people help.

How many times does someone have to flip/flop and lie, he is a leach/suck-up who is just trying to vie for the 2024 spot.

The swab tests don't misdiagnose flu or common colds as COVID-19, just the nature of the test.

Your going to see a lot lower flu cases this year just due to the changes implemented in many areas, it's not being passed over here from international travel or Asia like it normally does.

And the few that do get here are not spreading as far or fast because of the masks and distancing.

You have to remember COVID-19 is much more transmissible than the average flu during flu season. Flu has an R0 of 1.3 (assuming no masking/distancing and normal travel) so it has little to no chance with these measures, especially the travel part.

No he is not, but he should not be on a sunny vacation during a crisis, it's just stupid. Now I am hearing that AOC is raising a million and Beto is doing wellness checks and getting food deliveries, really kills it for the GOP when Ted goes on a bloody vacation. He is a horrid senator overall.

Your 100% right, he should have either cancelled, or been on his flight back as soon as the emergency developed, very bad optics, but I don't think he really cares.

Texas really shouldn't have made it hard to import power, sure they usually produce the most power of any state, but isolating the grid never really made sense, especially as an excess energy producer who could sell that excess to the overall grid.

Wind is also not a problem, the majority of generation is natural gas and coal still.

This is stupid, he was on trial for acts during his tenure, I am sick o this stupidity.

Even Mitch the bitch has used this excuse, they think he is guilty and don't want to face our wrath.

Well if they pull it they pull it, it's always toxic for a brand to get into politics, just means you vote with your dollars.

Not a fan of the pillow products, but I like him, but looks like cancel culture is pissed because he expressed his opinions.

Taken off the committees really kneecaps members from having any say in the structure of important legislation.

Though it will give her more free time to try to fundraiser for reelection, but still a loss for her.

I think the left will make Greene the face of the far right which is probably not a great thing since she has said stupid things over the recent past. Kind of like how we use AOC or OMAR as the face of the left (even though they are more of the far left).

Btw it's nice to have a respectable debate. Why I enjoy the forums sometimes, even if I am not always of the same opinion as others.

The current changes are too fast and extreme for it to be related to the very slow process of the Milankovitch Cycles. I have read about this in the past and it's just not supported.

"they cannot account for the current period of rapid warming Earth has experienced since the pre-Industrial period (the period between 1850 and 1900), and particularly since the mid-20th Century. Scientists are confident Earth’s recent warming is primarily due to human activities — specifically, the direct input of carbon dioxide into Earth’s atmosphere from burning fossil fuels."

" Finally, Earth is currently in an interglacial period (a period of milder climate between Ice Ages). If there were no human influences on climate, scientists say Earth’s current orbital positions within the Milankovitch cycles predict our planet should be cooling, not warming, continuing a long-term cooling trend that began 6,000 years ago."

Yes it was in the news a few times, but it was not what climate scientists were talking about. of 68 studies during that decade only 10% predicted cooling, while 90% predicted warming or no-stance.

But the problem is some magazines ran with the cooling even though it was not the general consensus. A small difference also is that these days scientific consensus is well vetted unlike hundreds of years ago, it is not a group jumping on something they think is popular.

Can you explain things like the record low ice caps this year, and the hottest years on record are almost every year now. And the vast amount of once in a century storms are almost yearly now, or even multiple times a year now.

What I find sad is that no one seems to know that George Floyd had a fatal level of fentanyl in his system, that he chewed up the drugs to hide the evidence, and would be alive today if he had simply complied with the officers.

I am sure everyone here knows this, but the majority of people don't... because the MSM does not report the truth.

Also I did not link CFCs to acid rain. Acid rain was mainly from the use of heavy coal burning in the past. There were measures put in place back in the 80s/90s to reduce the sulfur from the coal, plus now lots of natural gas and other energy sources. So that is what reduced acid rain.

Still I agree acid rain is probably a big issue in like China since they still use a lot of coal, but are moving off of it.

That's just not true, CFC levels plummeted in the from the late 80s and onward.

India and China don't account for even a fraction of the peak in the 80s when the issue was discovered and banned.

They even noticed a spike a year or two ago and traced it down to the source.

China peaked in 1998 at 50 ODP Tonnes of CFCs, but almost zeroed out by 2008. the world wide peak was ~1000 ODP Tonnes in 1986.

Well I am not going to jump on this bandwagon, pretty sure climate change is real, and man made and getting worse. I just don't think there is much as a single person I can do about it. Probably going to live my life out fine, it's the future generations that are going to be killed off or face the issues of food production, heatwaves/ and crazy annual storms.

As for the ice age thing, in the 1970s there were a few people talking about it, but it was small number that were just in the news, the science community was more worried about the greenhouse gas emissions.

I'm not going to go against a scientific consensus because it makes me fell better, just going to ignore it and pickup some whiskey, and BBQ some steaks.

Yeah but they were able to reduce the acid rain, stop CFCs and slowed depletion. So those things are not great examples since they were resolved through change.
