Electronic Voting will never be secure based on a simple fact; Politically biased programmers and hackers exist. There will always be a back door or a way to jerryrig it. Until that changes; stick to paper and make sure that vote counting is being observed.
One thing I hate about ebay is even though they let you filter out product origin by country, they don't let you sort out the product's manufacturing by country. So even if you filter out china, you still see chinese cheap crap. Its just sold "locally".
When I was a kid my family has always been one of those "make it last" type. Mostly my father. Driving the same car for 20 years, using the same TV for 15 years, the same HAM radio for 50 years, etc. Before corporatists began whoring themselves out to China they used to build to last... These days you're lucky to get 2 years out of a Microwave. Heck I still use a 50 year old Kenmore microwave. It's older than me and I've seen it in the kitchen every day of my life.
