Remember how Trump delayed the speech. He let the patriots wait an hour in the cold and dragged it out forever. He never was late in any of his rallies even when he had to fly to 3 different places a day. Why the fuck would he be late an hour for a rally in his own fucking backyard? He waited for the Pence's betrayel to be completed. He didn't want the patriots to freeze but he tried to keep them away from the capitol because he knew what was going down.
They still had to continue with their plan but with a much smaller amount of people. They were hoping for complete chaos but it didn't happen which forced them to shut down social media to slow the spread of video-proof.

If that were true it would mean they knew about antifa's plans and could have prevented or exposed it.
The only reason I can think of for letting all of this play out is attempting to red-pill as much of the population as possible.
