Yes. I’ve had my license for years. I did it for emergency communication and meeting new people. Highly recommended. You can get a cheap Handheld to start, and then the hobby is almost limitless depending how much you want to spend.

I moved out of the city and couldn’t be happier. Driving to anywhere takes longer, and it’s a trip for anything but McDonald’s and subway, but I’m done with the suburbs and snitchy neighbors. Everyone is so nice too.
