I thought my quiet example of how to be and soldiering on through adversity and unquestioning support and love was not enough.
We had, after all, thoroughly embraced left liberal culture as well as being immersed in it, and some part of me was already feeling it was doing damage.
But they have individually and on their own tracks chosen to not be like so many friends around them and even in the larger family- One made some early bad choices in relationships so has chosen to focus on a vocational education to help injured veterans and focus on being a good mom and be fulfilled using skills she naturally has; and when the right guy comes along THEN she will put her toe into the dating waters again. The other has somehow become a trad stay at home wife and mom and had a very happy relationship by 25.
All I can say is WHEW!
Shit, in the EARLY 90S I (a married liberal D voting woman in a giant dark blue bubble at the time) was actively advising my single male friends who kept asking if I knew anyone to look elsewhere than anyone I knew female of any age and single.
It took exactly ONE decent single guy asking me, and my sitting down and carefully reviewing any possibility from family to faint aquaintances, to realize they were all broken in ways I would NEVER subject any guy to, let alone one I liked.
Here we are 30 years later and if anything the damaged emotional mess of modern educated women (although more singles than happily married) is now added to by social encouragement to think it is good and act out, widespread medicating Rx and not, and desperation vs disdain towards settling down.
I sound like some throwback religious fanatic, but reality is either you meet her early enough to bond and then prevent the crazy from being incorporated OR you hunt outside the 80% of the population city zones. Or you get incredibly lucky and find the few woken up and rejecting it all and still sane undrugged and looking women in that 80%.

Up to 3 weeks ago was there 5 days a week during day, sarcastic, sharp, very organized.
Then mentioned in front of me was due for 1st vaxx next day....
Saw her briefly 3 days later- she was designated late night coverage, urgent delivery. She looked and sounded like shit, rambling, groggy. Thought maybe not a night person.
Next time I saw her was a full week later- early AM coming in and said first day back after week off. Looked pale with dark circles under eyes, had no idea of pending delivery, abrupt in speech, acted exhausted.
I have not seen her since, day or night. And on average I am inside in daytime 2 or more times a week, at least 3 times a week evenings too.
Her workspace now looks neglected vs shut for day.
No one has mentioned her name around me while pixking up any of those gigs until today, when a return order had her name as contact and I asked if form inside was correct- and the actual staffer there who is normally very chatty and personal suddenly looked at ground and babbled something about form was fine fine all ok. And avoided looking at me while basically verbally shooing me out of the building.

Yes you should, for numerous reasons:
People need to feel useful, productive, valued members of society. Even hermit like tech nerds have a deep need to feel of value to the greater community.
A sense of purpose and routine is incredibly important to maintain both mental and physical health.
A sense of self respect is slowly lost the longer you just sit around getting govt funds- somewhere between 2 and 6 months it goes from earned safety net to sucking govt gibs internally for nearly all people. This also erodes your sense of confidence and feelings of having marketable skills.
And basically random or exploring different jobs is a real eye opener as to what REALLY suits you or will be interesting or fullfilling- often they are very different than imagined and a happy match is not where expected.
Finally, you have a golden opportunity to pursue a new field or skillset with initially lower pay- you are at home and buffered from the true terror of having to survive on UE or take less pay. Take advantage! Chase a dream or desired set of skills, open future doors.

Most all single guys I have been friends with, from quiet lowkey to pure alphas, over many decades now openly have said it runs closer to 500 to 1 or even 1000 to 1 before getting a single bite of returned interest. That it is exhausting due to the effort involved even when highly motivated and social by nature, and they are just shooting for a date and a possibility of more as less and less single women want to do the married and babies thing nowadays than even a decade ago.
And it is VERY clear if you read his entire postvthat he is ALREADY actively hunting and widely first dating- and the women have ALL been no go for HIM.
The canned plan and rigid image is just that, and any woman worth catching will sense the false front and reject it. The ones you think you caught are just stupid or dazzled, and the bitter reality will hit later.
I am a woman, Boomer, separated/divorced since 2006.
I have seen this social push in women running hardcore for at least 11 years now- and from how well established the attitudes were then it was likely half a decade longer.
I was dumbfounded to find not just young single party girls referring to guys as if they were handbags to switch out at will, intimacy was just physical acts, guys not even real people with feelings.
I am talking early teens right on through in their 70s females! And completely happy with operating their personal life this way- utterly uncaring about honesty or safety or health, let alone finding someone to love and respect to build a life with, or at least date exclusively.
To my horror, large contingents of "committed relationship" women parrotted much of the same attitudes as well, and more than a small percentage clearly were casually unfaithful vs a torrid affair type failure.
Is it any wonder I discovered that virtually NO Millenial males trusted anyone to tell the truth or keep their word? So they never did either. Gen X was only slighlty better, most having caught on to the games but half unwilling to compromise their internal values. Boomer guys seemed just bewildered and defeated by it all. Now Zoomers are falling victim to this same pervasive rot to their psyches.
I literally felt in shock. It took months for me to fully process and grasp how completely this lifestyle and view of the opposite sex had taken over society.
I myself was exceedingly reluctant to even go on a date, let alone more, even with flattering persistent male interest. It just seemed so... hazardous. And, since I wasn't really NEEDING a man to feel complete or support me and I've had my children, why bother since almost no one was more than looking for a side piece or hook up or very casual non committed fwb sex periodically.
And that is probably the exact woman you should be looking for: one who is avoiding the whole new guy dates and girls night out scene.
But you'll need to be a friend with common interests or connections for a good long while, build a trust and like and respect bond before she will do more than quietly say sorry not dating to your interest. This is real old school.

Part of my processing modern reality was realizing how very different my own Millennial girls were from everyone else, and that was partly why I was so confused by what was treated as normal.
One daughter had only a couple boyfriend/dating relationships and one brief mistake of a marriage with 3 babies rapidly when young- then cut that all off in her early 20s to get her life together and take care of the kids and herself- and one single good relationship in the last decade where he and she were friends and coworkers, he got to know the kids well on Skype, then brought her home to his parents after military service and they live very near them as she gets a specialized degree in veteran phys therapy.
My other had ONE longterm HS and after boyfriend that failed when he was unfaithful, one brief relationship after with a friend's cuz that was a terrible match, and then came a longterm social friend who had been quietly waiting for over 7 years for a chance to declare himself when she was single; they are blissfully happy, brutally honest, totally loyal and faithful, have 3 kids they both dote on, and she stays home while he works extremely hard at his dream job she 1000% supports him in. She did have a small booming biz she started after baby 1 taking natural photoshoot pics a weekend or two a month preCovid, and he totally helped her make it happen, but primarily it is a trad relationship.
Keep in mind, both were raised deep inside the dark blue semi urban bubble of No CA, and a liberal as in 1960s version upbringing with tolerant values. They were and ARE utterly surrounded by every bit of the social and political nightmare the left has devolved into... and plenty of thrit friends live that lifestyle. But somehow THEY chose otherwise; perhaps it was my values and demostrated lifestyle they learned growing up, maybe it gave them self respect as well as a desire to treat guys as decent human beings. Whatever it was, it shows that even in the theoretically liberal areas there are real old school attitude females- not just in cloistered and hyper trad conservative settings.
Sell it all on craigslist or local sites, or the ebil FB marketplace locally- zero tracking, private sale, nearly always cash trabsactions and often do not even know each other's full names.

But the person who you were talking to had solid tax advice, and I not only worked in accounting for decades... I did my ex's small biz IC tax filings for a decade and a half, and stay on top of the rules changes now I have my own IC gig.
Short version is:
File a Schedule C with your 1040- unless you have zero possible expense deductions against your gig income.
This is where you can deduct any valid documented expenses before you transfer over the net PROFIT to the line for Sch C income on your 1040.
(Note this critical detail on car expenses: you MUST decide if you are doing std mileage or documented actual costs/expenses from car the very first year you claim the car "in service" on your tax return- and CANNOT CHANGE IT EVER)
And keep track of your mileage as you go in some written down/saved fashion.
Also note you will owe around 15.3% in self employment taxes on the net profit, and there is an SE form to fill out and attach for THAT too. BUT "The employer-equivalent portion of your SE tax (half usually) can be deducted from your adjusted gross income. This would not affect net earnings or the SE tax, it only impacts your income tax." This is deducted on your 1040 before calculating your AGI noted in next paragraph.
After you transfer those items onto your 1040 you add up all the bits of any other sources of income received to get your gross income- and then take the std ded of $12,400 off the top of THAT to get your Adjusted Gross Income before you calculate your Federal taxes owed.
Something similar happens with MOST State taxes calculated too, but for sure carefully find and read your own State's tax pages online about which above line item is used, if any State std deduction, and if they require quarterly taxes paid also.
Also a head's up on stimulus checks: "If you were eligible for the first or second payment but did not receive it or you did not receive the correct amount, you can claim the Rebate Recovery Credit for the difference on your 2020 tax return (when you file in 2021)."
You may qualify for other deductions or even refundable tax credits- everyone is different, a startling number of them are missed by filers, and you should carefully review any and every possible one in detail before finishing any tax return or filing.
PS This is combined with really low and dropping rapidly positive rates on testing- well below 2 per 100k avg now.
And between yesterday and today a drastic drop in both reg pt and ICU just got reported.

I know there us a fair number of women on here, say 20%, and they are in general not shy about calling out anyone new or founding, or contradicting or arguing a different point or goal than the group.
This is nearly exactly the same behavior in a longterm was-Bernie-supporting generally left progressive group; tje difference there is there is that it has at least 50% GenX or older female of longterm members, and huge swaths of users since it grew sharply now mistake them for male in conflict dialogues.
Add in that I have determined as an ECE and trained tutor that only a very few of either group of women manifest Autistic or Aspergers, and perhaps half demonstrate Alpha or high T behaviors...
...and you are forced to accept that there is no such thing as a sweeping classification of women as poor independent thinkers or leaders.
Women, real contributing thinking nurturing women, are the backbone of creating and continuing viable egalitarian communities and mentally healthy children to carry on the ideals and practical everyday thoughts and actions that keep it going.
Those good male leaders did not sit at home raising and teaching their children, and were only infrequently visible to them as they lead. It was the mothers and sisters and older generations that did this, and built the trust and respect neccessary for an alpha to be a real leader and for his legacy to carry forwards once he was dead.
If you paint virtually all women as either NPCs or the few Susan Rice types you are ignoring both genetic reality and human history. And thus utterly defeating any chance of a multi-generational society that is not rigidly controlled by a tiny elite set.
