I won't lie, I'm worried about this guy.

That's the exact business model of Griddy. There are almost a dozen power companies to choose from, all with rates you can lock in so they're the same over every month of the year.

The homeowner CHOSE a variable rate, fringe business model. That's on him, just as foreclosures on ARMs are the responsibility of the homeowners who choose that absurd structure. Play stupid games...

Hope you and your family is ok, pede. No burst pipes?

We have one so far, our hardwoods are buckling. But neighbors are helping neighbors and we'll get through it!

That customer is a 38 year old contractor. He knew what he was getting into, Griddy is risky AF and everyone knows it, which is why their customer base is so small.

He chose to go with Griddy, which warned customers of the spikes. He should pay.

We need more American-made products. I'm having a hecc of a time finding emergency LED lanterns which aren't made in Chynah.

I read the order. It's pretty despicable to go on for paragraph after paragraph about the environment and "written requests" for relief and units. WTF.

"brownouts"? Those are meant to be rolling, short or partial. Our entire neighborhood was without power for 8-10 hours at a stretch, with 1-2 hours in between which was barely enough to warm our home, which didn't get above 52 degrees for almost 5 days.

No this isn't illegal, it's mismanagement and low standards coming back to roost, but if they'd actually done brownouts the damage we've all suffered would've been greatly mitigated.

From the article "Griddy's customers are exposed to the real-time fluctuations in wholesale power markets as members pay a $9.99 monthly fee and then pay the direct cost of the electricity on Texas's power grid based on the time of day they used it.

Griddy's business model often saves its customers money but it has done the opposite in recent days as the cost of power on Texas's grid rose exponentially amid the outages caused by severe weather conditions."

The homeowner chose to use this business model.
