I would happily donate. The site doesn't have ads, and the mods are funding everything themselves. We need more server instances to protect against DDOSing, or even accidental DDOS' by us from flooding the site with traffic during big time events. I can only imagine what'll happen on election day - the site down for the whole day, and then I can't have my high energy digital rally!

It's definitely the latter. Ben Shapiro said on his show that since he is (or was) based in LA (any by extension Hollywood), he was closely acquainted with many big name actors and actresses. He said for the sake of their protection he wouldn't name drop them on his show, but there are far more conservatives in Hollywood than we are led to believe. Many of them apparently espouse leftist views online to save face and cover up their true beliefs. The big whigs in Hollyweird will make sure they never have another contract again if they don't.

So I figured out how this is legal - the data is all provided via the FEC. The information is public, and you can look it up for yourself on the government's own website here: https://fec.gov/data
There's a catch though. The FEC only displays doxxable information if you tell them you donated. How do you tell the FEC you donated to a campaign? By reporting it in your tax returns. On your annual individual tax return form (1040) there is a specific section for you to indicate political campaign contributions. If you don't fill that section out, the FEC has no data on you to browse.
While this is a fucked up as fuck website, and should be taken down because it has clear politically militant aims of identifying, harassing, and threatening Trump donors, the data that is on this wretched site is already publicly searchable. A lawsuit to take it down would either a) fall flat because the data is, again, public, b) encourage copycat sites to pop up and embolden their pursuit of harassment, c) both options.
Case in point - if you don't want to be searchable, don't report your contributions. There are many in the comments wondering why they can't be found on the site, and the likely answer is you haven't self reported your contributions.
