It was the same over here until a few years ago. The Royal Mail was sold by the government. It is now a private company so they can't get away with that bullshit anymore. They don't perform they loose business, no more government subsidies. .

Lobbying exists in the UK but there are massive limits on how much money they can take. It's pretty much peanuts for a reason. If you take money from big business of course you are bought. You owe them so your gonna give them what they want when you get in. This needs to change in America now. If a candidate cannot fund their run for office from people who believe in them they shouldn't be running (grass roots).
I've been watching all of the this unfold over the pond since last summer. It sickens me how obvious the fraud has been and nothing is being done about it, it is so obvious.
