My friend's father died from Covid-19, however, he was already very sick and in an assisted living facility. In addition to Covid-19 he also had a staph infection, so it obviously didn't take much to put him over the edge. A very sad situation overall, but even if were the regular seasonal flu it could've been enough to kill him given his frail condition,

First of all what a joke. Secondly, the vaccine card you are given at the time of vaccination is literally meaningless. It's solely for your own records and to serve as a reminder of when to come back for the second one. Any real vaccine passport/proof of vaccine system will not rely on that stupid little card that is very easy to fake.

A lot of my extended family (aunts, uncles, second cousins) are gleefully posting about getting their vaccine on facebook. They are all church going conservatives but they are also older so I think that their fear of what could happen if they do get sick is driving them to get it. I'm in my 30s, so its easier for me to say eh, I don't need it, 99.9% survivability.
