The reason I keep coming and talking about this with you all, is I feel a deep gut feeling that our paper money will be nearly worthless very soon. I was in cryptocurrency during the Greece and Venezuela collapses, and people had to take literal wheelbarrows full of money to stores to purchase groceries, because the currency had inflated so fast and so greatly. USD is headed on this path right now.
If anything else, if USD inflates like that, the relative BTC/USD value will increase dramatically. This is because there are ONLY 21 million bitcoin that can ever come into existence.
Please do you and your family a favor, and if you have riskable savings, put 10% into cryptocurrency. Use Coinbase.com - it is the easiest and most trusted Exchange for American Citizens.
Once you have Bitcoin (or other crypto), get yourself a hardware wallet from Ledger (Ledger.com) - or there are some very good software wallets (Exodus.io is my favoriite). I recommend you store your crypto in one of these wallets. Only use Coinbase temporarily to buy/sell. Storage and spending use your personal wallet.

There is a very real chance we could be headed for massive economic unrest. And a complete and utter collapse of the USD. Inflation will explode nearly overnight.. and people with dollars will be in a very bad place.
Take a look at what happened in Venezuela when they collapsed and suffered this near instantaneous hyper inflation I am talking about... and just look at the path we are headed down potentially. We could end up just like Venezuela.
This is why I have been pro-crypto and been recommending Pede's shift 10% or so of your riskable savings into Crypto as a hedge. I'm not trying to "pump my bags"... my bags are in the form of hardware miners and I dont hold much actual crypto... I generate it daily.

Alongside SolarWinds, another widely used tool is... CloudFlare.
With CloudFlare, they are the DNS authority for a large percentage of domains. Should they be compromised (perhaps even via SolarWinds)... that can be a majorly impactful hack.
I feel the SolarWinds hack was the TIP OF THE ICEBERG. It opened the gates for extremely malicious attacks.
I think many here would throw an extra $5-$10 into the fund, to help purchase plane tickets to Pede's who cannot afford to come to DC and save our Republic.
I cannot personally attend, not for financial reasons, but trust me I would be there if I could be there.

I have worked as a Network Engineer the better majority of the past 20 years of my life.
I am CCNA, SolarWinds Certified Pro, Network General Sniffer Certified Expert... among others.
I want to bring attention to the level of danger something like SolarWinds being hacked by foreigners.
SolarWinds is a network management application that grants immense capabilities and incredible monitoring.
Some of these are:
- Physical Network Diagram (Viewed live, like a Network Map) for both LAN and WAN networks.
- WAN and LAN network monitoring from physical layer all the way up through the application layer. This includes SNMP access to all devices on the network (if configured this way), which gives SolarWinds an unconscionable amount of authority and power to alter configurations on those network devices.
- Packet Sniffing, and Capturing. Can watch traffic in real time, and capture the packets.
This is just a short list of capabilities. It goes far more indepth than this, down to applications themselves like SQL databases, web traffic, email server traffic and packets, are all monitor-able with SolarWinds.
This is very bad Pede's. I worry very very much how much damage was done.
