I don't believe you're having this conversation in earnest. They obviously did coordinate that because it happened. Never before have any states decided to just stop counting because they were tired, had a water main break, or whatever other excuse I heard on election night.

You increase the value of the shares they own which allows for cashflowing and expansion based on assets. You are funding them. With a high share price they can also dilute and gain huge capital reserves. But what the fuck do I know, I just trade for a living.
