Just because Obama did, doesn't mean that Trump will. Trump was directly asked a few months ago if he would endorse Pence if he ran in the 2024 primary and Trump said he wouldn't endorse anyone in the primary but will back and campaign for whomever the republican voters choose in the general.

The phone number thing is more understandable to prevent bots making it unusable. The preventing traffic unless they sign up is just annoying as fuck. It's essentially telling potential visitors that unless you sign up and give us your information, you're not welcome. If Trump and government accounts decide to move to Parler, it would essentially force millions of people to make accounts with them in order to be able to get government announcements.
My problem with parler is I can't lurk. I never made an account on twitter but follow a bunch of twitter accounts daily. Now they are moving to parler but I can't continue to follow them. It is a serious flow that Parler needs to address.
