Yeah. I'm generally pretty pro-life but I don't think it's fair to society to force people to have to deal with stuff like that. Example - my fiance's little brother is downs/autistic/God knows what else. Dude will never do anything except burn through untold tens of thousands of dollars. It pisses me off that my tax dollars go to support his Medicare (never mind that her parents are loaded, I still have to pay for that). It's a full-time job to watch him because he can basically never be left alone and will never have any sort of autonomy (literally Medicare pays for a full-time aide). He'll always be in diapers. He'll never be able to talk. He's 18 now but will never have any semblance of a real life. He's effectively just a sinkhole in terms of resources.
She gets pissed at me when I tell her stuff like "if your parents die, I won't have my life destroyed because you want to take care of him full-time and force me to get a 2nd and 3rd job to afford that; I'll just divorce you" ... but it's the truth. It's not fair to me to expect me to sacrifice my life for no real benefit.
