He DOES NOT look at the source material. He only looks at official news sources.

Also, keep in mind that he has always been left-leaning on social issues. In fact, he resembles many uninformed people in that way. He thinks that the way to happiness is to give people stuff. Of course, we all know that the real solution is to give people the ability to do it themselves.
