It’s been bad for the homeless. But at least in my community, we have groups going around giving people food and rides to shelters. Honestly, we’re all pulling together to help each other. We have Good Samaritan Facebook groups where people with 4-wheel drive are offering to get out and get people groceries. People are letting other people stay at their houses if they have power/water. There is a risk of elderly and people with life-saving equipment that has electricity. It’s dangerous here, for sure, but people Are looking out for each other.

Pretty much anyone in a city is flipping out. OMG it’s 53 degrees in my house!!! (Rolling blackouts)

I’m frustrated because our pumps have frozen up as of this morning so we’re having to haul water out to our cows and chickens. Can’t use tank heaters bc power is going out sporadically. Gathering some snow to melt later and we’re filling up bathtubs and buckets with water.

It’s madness out here.

Not really. Class actions are typically filed in federal court. Not state. If you don’t join the class, you can still file your own law suit. If you join the class, you waive your right to bring a separate law suit. If multiple plaintiffs filed in federal court, the courts would likely join the suits anyways so a class action helps consolidate resources as law suits against big companies are expensive. And people usually want to go after that huge amount (even though only the named plaintiffs in the class really make much money - everyone else gets pennies). Why not spend the $60-$200 filing your own suit in state court for a small amount? If people coordinated this like the GME stock buy, it could work. So many law suits would likely result in lots of default judgments.

Ameritrade isn’t letting me login to my account. Are they shutting down everything? I think Market Watch is down too.
