That's very true as well -- at least very few have understanding in its fullest sense. And again, it goes for everyone. It's very easy to say things in the cloak of invisibility that modern communication has given to people...but perhaps easy doesn't equal wise or good...words have a way of becoming, and what they become is not always admirable or right.
I'll fill you in on a little something: it isn't just in Europe that this has been happening, and it isn't just with one particular group...the desire for vindication, revenge really, has been going on all over and for quite some time.
There is a righteous desire for that freedom, and then there are baser emotions that people can fall into wanting which are a trap (and lead to a loss of said freedom). Everyone needs to be very careful who they follow.
Well, then I am adding my own footnote to the OP.
Of course there are -- anyone who hasn't seen it has not been looking. And of course some of the rank and file extremists are merely pawns and sheep for those who are in charge...who desire above all else power.
It always comes down to power at the top and and loss of freedom at the bottom, no matter what the platitudes that are used to get you to go along with it, no matter who their scapegoat of the day is. It's all a racket; best not to play along.
The only thing worth fighting for is that promise of a small bit of freedom which by right is mankind's. You fight to put down the bastards that wish to rule us all, wherever you may find them.
No, I would like to avoid as much death and destruction as possible -- that's just smart.
To show mercy upon the little people who would give up and concede while holding the big fish accountable (and making an example of them, at least some of them) is just a smart move.
Here's how I say: "Go fuck yourselves."
There is no scenario in which we want it. Once you start down the path of foreswearing the Republic, you can never go back. You would be trading freedom for stability/safety.
I would die for the Republic, but not for an emperor, no matter how good that emperor might be.
I think we can take a look at both and come to the correct conclusion that both were fucking evil. What the Turks did to the Armenians and Greeks ranks up there too. They don't need to be ranked from least to most; they don't need to be used to dismiss the others.
That's not very nice to people with Down's....he looks full on "I suck swamp monster dick and eat their shit afterwards" to me.
Cognitive dissonance is a helluva drug...coming down off of it is next to impossible. Some of these stupid fuckers are going to go full China Syndrome -- get ready.
That little chick is my new hero. Dang girl!
Would be fun to see what part, if any, that Parent played in the hires for that voting center.
Or her kids/grandkids. Ruby needs to not play around -- she and her equally stupid daughter played around with some truly evil people.
I'd say: go talk to Rudy and do it right quick.
No, she knew she was doing something dirty -- just look at her little video. She was just stupid enough to think she was in on something she'd never get caught and pay for. One thing about patsies, they always think they're part of the big club.
In some ways; she is correct: she did something all right, but she was told to do it. She's the dumb patsy in this -- the street corner prick who the real gangsters could care less if they get caught. It's her own fucking fault for playing along (this is why we don't do crime kids), but she's not the author. Get that lawyer Ruby if you want, but start talking; otherwise, you're going down...and certain people might want to make sure you never talk iykwim.
If true, will be interesting to see who replaces him.
Funny how I remember a time when you didn't need to take out loans (or at least not these outrageously huge ones) to go to college...and it wasn't that long ago. It's almost like the availability of larger, unsecured loans drove up the cost....
PS. I am (or was until the Bat flu hit) a college instructor at a small local college as well as a part time instructor in the local school system...some of the salaries at both are disgustingly high for the tenured instructors and administrators (the non-tenured tend to work for peanuts, which is wrong). If the salaries were balanced out to a moderate and fair amount, the costs of operation would go down, and people would still make a very good wage for this area. If, for example, I could make 30-50K per year (working all year round), I'd not only be 1) overjoyed; 2) have a very modest yet very pleasant lifestyle with which anyone should be content. We have people making a lot more than that while the physical plant is constantly laying people off or cutting their hours (they run the buildings).
But when you tell them "Well, here's an open window -- make sure to go head first -- they just get offended". Funny how they like to moan about wishing they were never born but never take the option of getting out of this world.
PS. Under no circumstances do I encourage suicide -- it is very wrong to go where you haven't been invited; it's also very selfish -- life is a gift that many don't get to keep; don't throw it away. But I also hate hypocrites who are essentially making light of both abortion and suicide by playing that narcissistic little game, and reminding them of the option is a great way of calling them on their bullshit.
He was also very paranoid and routinely killed people he thought might oppose him -- not a great political atmosphere. And then he chose Caligula as his successor -- because the legions liked him.
Yeah, no, we don't want that.
I think he, quite wisely, doesn't want to become one -- thus heading the entire problem off at the pass. And we shouldn't want one either.
Mr. Barron appears to be struggling.
I'll take "people who are not Democrats nor fooled by them" for a thousand.
