Hey everyone,
I'm brand new here, I mainly hang around r/conspiracy and I didn't really even know about this forum until recently.
I saw the top post of all time (which doesn't seem to be listed there anymore?) where PedeInspector got the NYT Edison data and identified, among other things, the PA vote swap that was featured on CNN.
Basically I want to make a video on the PA vote swap and a number of other extreme batches that I've identified. I know people are all over this and compiling all sorts of data, but I feel like an easy to understand video focused on a few major anomalies could be very effective in getting the word out.
I think I can make a good video. What I need from you guys though is help with understanding some details about the data. I want to anticipate ways that people will try to undermine the video and I know that they'll try to attack the legitimacy of the data.
From what I've seen, I believe that this is the legit and official Edison data, which is basically as official as it gets.
Long story short, here are my questions:
-
How exactly was this data obtained? ELI5 if possible. I understand it was scraped from the NYT website, but what does that exactly mean? Is it something that I and/or the viewer could replicate? I know you can get source code for any website by right clicking...is this similar? I really want to simplify this for the audience.
-
On that note, is this data still on their website? If I had the know-how to scrape websites, could I pull this same data again right now?
-
How can I provide confidence that this data is 100% from the NYT website and not edited in any way by the person who pulled the data?
-
The link itself (below) is a JSON file...what is that? What does static mean in the URL?
https://static01.nyt.com/elections-assets/2020/data/api/2020-11-03/race-page/georgia/president.json
- Bonus question: does anyone know what EEVP stands for? I know it's the % of vote reported.
That's it for now.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
