I come from communist Vietnam and I can say that you are absolutely correct.
Communism only works if everyone is a lifeless working shell, like in 1984. And in order to make everyone a lifeless working shell, they need oppression. Even in good faith, that oppression is to ensure every rule need to be followed by everyone. Hence the constant monitoring and censoring.
They got paid more than the men team. In both raw number and percentage.
I mean they probably deserve the pay cuz they are world champion. But the claim is just flat out lie.
The reason why they think they are receiving less pay is because the men team has bigger bonus per winning match, but no bonus if they don't play or win. While the women team get paid regardless of their performance.
And yes, they negotiated for that payment scheme, no one forced them that. They did that to themselves
Can't commend on the legitimacy of this but I'd say buying land is the correct move.
