BUT, I have gotten some payback recently. A drainageway south of my home was cluttered with years of bruch and debris. They claimed cleaning it was my responsibility and refused to do anything about it.
Then the clutter causes the ditch to overflow and caused a minor flood. Luckily, no major damage, but it was the final straw.
I pulled the original bylaws and plat map from the County Assesor, which clearly showed it was HOA responsability to maintain, and sent a letyer with the documents, threatening to sue them.
That ditch was cleared out within a month. Not a dime out of my pocket to do it.
