Get the test if you can! I wish we all had access to these tests and we could replicate the findings of Santa Clara, LA, Roseville, etc and show that many of us have had it and we were fine. Drop this high mortality rate right back to reality.
I have no idea how long it has been here. People that I work with and I have all talked about this ad nauseam, because it was so odd how we all got sick at the same time. We would spend the first 10 minutes of every internal conference call in mid-to-late January discussing our illness. In those discussions, the folks from California would add how they had already had those same things in October, November, December.
I wasn’t sore and I didn’t have a cough though, so my symptoms were unique from yours.
Also, not mentioned in all this is that my wife tested negative for the flu. She was told it was likely an upper respiratory virus. She went to get checked out because her sore throat hadn’t went away for so long. (It was like 15 days by that point) Also not mentioned is, several co-workers were tested for the flu and also ALL (that I spoke with) tested negative for the flu.
The conference was in Orlando. We have people from all over the world, but 75% are US based. 20 or so in California actually. Speaking with one of those from Orange County last week, he said he didn’t get sick after this conference. He believes he didn’t because he was sick like everyone described back in... December!
I was able to get a test by asking a friend MD to order a kit. It took less than a week to get and less than 15 minutes to confirm! I wanted it because I was so convinced. I believe he helped me because he wanted to feel more optimistic about all this. If I came back positive, my family came back positive, and yet this was all we encountered, then there is light at the end of this draconian world!
We were staying pretty close to home, but that ended yesterday now knowing this.
We had been telling everyone we knew that we had already had it. No one truly believed us. I had a lot of money and pride riding on a positive test!
We took nothing. We are both O+. There were people from Asia, but not China. The people from our Asian offices both work with the Chinese people in and outside of China. None in attendance live in China though.

This is comparing flu and pneumonia cases year to year. No one will argue that flu cases are down and that means nothing. You said “death” are down, not flu deaths are down.
I do want to see what total deaths, or even better simply sickness deaths, year to year are.
