As someone who spent quite a few years with spray paint as a youth, two things.
Anyone with a little bit of skill would try to make proper use of the available space and not go outside the designated lines.
Looks like a Chicago fat cap to me if I had to guess (people manufacture different caps to replace the standard cap on spray paint)
