I understood that reference.
Also, I'm glad to see Braynard posting this on Gab.
Some people don't realize that if Braynard managed to make a lot of this stick, and be credible enough, the conservative press, and conservative politicians will gain leverage by claiming Biden was fraudulently certified. They will use that as a reason to ignore or to have states overturn his executive orders. He will become a lame duck president in the middle of his first term.
Unfortunately, it means that the GOP would have to be smart enough to use the opportunities given to them, a condition in which they have been lacking for the past decade.
The Left is bringing back the caste system.
It's just one more way to push him aside and get Harris into the seat.
"culturally there are different norms at each country and they their leaders are expected to follow"
So, we're expected to respect the cultural norms of other societies now? You mean, like having statues of explorers or military leaders? Or naming schools and plazas after them? Asking for a friend.
lol
I have to admit, I hate plumbing, so snapping plastic pipes together with some simple fittings is like a dream for me. But at the same time, I dislike drinking from plastic bottles, so...
My understanding was that the PEX would expand with the frozen water, minimizing the potential for broken or cracked pipes.
Most of my friends are still on FB, but a few of them are filtering over. Mostly we just use it for sharing articles. But I'm finding other people to chat with, and the site is mostly stable, with a few hangup once in a while.
Just followed you.
I feel sorry for Torba. First, he starts z and all the seriously far out wingers jump on, and give the place a bad Rep.
Now that the nirmies are finally coming over, in January a bazillion pedes flock to it, and they didn't have the infrastructure to handle all the traffic. They're starting to feel normal now, so I hope it's a good trend.
I remember that. It was glorious. Excellent trolling.
I don't know why you've been downvoted; an app would allow you to easily share articles, pictures, and other media. It makes it easier to create content.
Also, an app can be set to notify you of replies or messages. Quicker response time to discussions help build the social part of social media.
I signed up back in 2016, but admittedly got turned off by all the posts about "da jooz" and the other ethnic groups. I got off, then went back a couple years later and started finding more normal people. After getting spanked by both FB and Twitter, I went back again, althiufh mainly for sharing articles and memes. But I finally convinced some friends to join me, and and it's starting to feel like home.
What most people don't understand is that the GSA has become a woke, SJW breeding ground, and a lot of conservative and religious parents have removed their girls from the local troops.
The BSA saw the opportunity and started opening their doors. Overall, it's actually a good move for parents who don't want their pre-teen girls even more indoctrinated than they are by the public schools.
Turned off by ACTUAL complete Free Speech.
I think that's too facile a description. I'm all for free speech, but I'm also for not being compelled to listen to (or read) it all the time. Back in 2016 is was almost impossible to find groups that were not filled with guys going on about the evils of "dah jooz" or "dah towel heads" orn whatever other religious or ethnic groups. I just don't care to read it all day every day in my timeline. I confined my interaction to posting in a few groups and sharing articles.
There's a difference between "I don't like what those guys are writing. They should be shut down" and "I don't like what those guys are writing, so I'll go elsewhere."
so even a lot of our users were turned off by Gab
It's true. I jumped on Gab very early on. I'm an older Usenet veteran, and free speech doesn't scare me. But the problem with Gab back then is that it was 90% guys who weren't even far right, they were off on their own spectrum. I used to call it "a dumpster fire of free speech"
Unfortunately, social media only flourishes when users find like minded people with whom they want to socialize. It scares a lot of decent folks away from Gab, so when Parler came along, a lot of people hoped it would be different.
Fortunately, Gab is filling up with normal people, and I've even convince a few of my older FB friends to switch. I hope Torba continues to grow.
Another elder pede here.
I got on Gab very early on. I didn't use it much at first because it seemed like it was mainly guys on some extreme far off political spectrums. But after a while the more normal people started filtering over. More recently I've gotten my FB friends to come over
I use Dissenter for my non-work browsing. They don't have a mobile version yet so I'm here on Brave.
All the links to stories I've clicked give a 404. 🤔
This was the result of one of the United Church of Christ (UCC) posting a vague Twitter blurb about watching for violence on Sunday or Wednesday. UCC is very liberal/progressive, and the members generally are not known to be Trump supporters.
That message was posted last week, prompting many UCC churches to have emergency meetings on what to do. My own suggestion about having a few of us armed at the door was not appreciated.
The FBI and Homeland Security have not confirmed any credible threats toward any such churches.
Between the people panic moving from. Parler, the other s coming from FB and Twitter, Gab was already as sluggish as beach traffic on a holiday weekend. But the TD "hug of death" has probably brought it to a standstill as many pedes here try to sign up.
Give it a few more days to normalize.
CT, having driven out their manufacturing base, and now with a net negative population growth, is trying to become as crazy (politically) as CA.
When was the last time you saw a Wordstar, Multimate, or Lotus 123 document? 🤔
Don't get me wrong - FB has become ridiculous, as has much of social media. But do our states need to waste money treating it like a regulated public utility?
The amusing irony that IRL, Iron Man is pro freedom and free speech, while Captain America is a Hydra-supporting Communist.
In real life? 😉
Wow.
I mostly lurk here, but I wanted to tell you that this is one of the most powerful, and well written messages that I've seen. You absolutely nailed it here.
