interesting that you think there would ever be a good reason for a government to kill or imprison its citizens.

hope so, as of today, 10% of State Governors of this country has publicly stated they're willing and able to kill or imprison their own citizens if they resist attempts to eliminate constitutional rights.

Why would they not? France is just basically trash with slightly stronger coffee.

Seems perfectly reasonable, a person who is aware they might be more susceptible to a viral infection should wisely choose to stay home, but that’s what it is, his or her personal choice. A person that’s otherwise healthy and not so worried about the effects should be able to choose to continue to live their lives, that too is a personal choice. Freedom and liberty mean more than just being able to watch tv and choose the color of the next car you buy.

I wasn’t aware that the U.S.A was Italy. I always thought we were separate and sovereign counties. Thanks 4th grade geography, you really let me down on this one.

DailyMail is trash, they know full and well a log scale is going to look more scary to the dullards than a linear scale because of the way the data is visualized. That’s all they want to do is sensationalize. Just look at literally every other headline ever on that website.

Remember kids, only over-reaching and oppressive state and local governments and the abject and total suspension of our individual freedom and liberty can save us like it never does. The free market will never be our savior like it always is every time. The big bad wuhans won’t consume us all as long as we don’t swim on a beach in a warm climate.

I can’t find a marlin 336 dark series anywhere. I’ve got a dead air sandman that wants to meet it.

I’m sitting in my storage unit working on my boat. I’ll get as much done as I can while I’m still allowed to own a boat. It’ll be nice for some unelected government bureaucrat when they confiscate it from me.

Remember, the media and the democrats openly hate you. The want you to lose your rights and livelihoods. They’re pushing this narrative. They sit back in their ivory towers and beat off to the gradual loss of freedom. It’s porn for them.

I’m interested to know why some are openly advocating we suspend all rights and liberties of citizens in a free society. Seems as if we’re comfortable now with how the Chinese do things. Should we next start enforcing lockdowns with the business end of a rifle? I’m sure the North Koreans would approve of that as well.

thupertheriousth 5 points ago +5 / -0

I’d argue the main “takeaway” from this is the state and local governments “taking away” their citizens rights, freedom, and livelihoods.

thupertheriousth 5 points ago +5 / -0

Who gets to decide what’s “non-essential” and what isn’t? This Governor? Is he a far superior and more valuable human being than you? It’s ok for him to protect his assets and livelihood, but not the less important dirty people like you and me. I’m pretty sure all those folks about to lose their jobs and livelihoods think their jobs are essential.

Nah bro, because what Patrick Henry really meant to say was “Give me abject suspension of all rights of people in a free society and government controlled means of production AND give me death”

What? You didn’t know?

(cue HIMYM theme music playing in the background)

(Bob Saget voice) Kids! Listen up, we’re going to recap what we’ve learned today about u/EricCiaremella.

1.The constitution is bullshit and can just go ahead and fuck right off.

2.It’s fun and exciting for a government to threaten its citizens with imprisonment or death if they do not comply.

3.Private enterprise is just the worst.

4.Because fuck your economy and livelihood.

5.Literally everyone is a “Never-Trumper.”

6.Do what I say because reasons. Otherwise I’ll get mad and call you names.

And that kids is how I met your mother and we both got accused of being anti-Trump shills together, because we’d rather not live in North Korea or China.

(End HIMYM theme music)

I’m sorry you feel like the constitution is “Bullshit,” as you clearly stated in some of your other responses to my posts. Maybe we shouldn’t advocate for the abject suspension of our fellow citizens rights. You’d probably get more upvotes then, if that’s what you’re concerned with.

Pardon me for enjoying my freedom and liberty and wanting to keep them, perhaps you’d be more comfortable in North Korea or even China since you seem to want the government to control your life, I hear things are going really well for citizens of those countries.

Meanwhile: back in reality. Personal responsibility is a main tenet of a free society. Government imposed responsibility is no different than tyranny. We all talk about gun control and how any infringement thereof is unconstitutional, but what about people control? So it’s not ok to control our guns but it’s perfectly fine to control us? Freedom is not just some switch we can turn off when we get scared and turn back on when everything is all better, it’s an everlasting principle and should be preserved above all else, otherwise a society can’t legitimately call itself free. We can’t just voluntarily give up our liberty and individual freedom because we might get the sniffles and feel slightly uncomfortable for a few hours. It shows how weak we’ve become as a culture and how reliant we’ve become on government, when ironically, we preach the very opposite on a daily basis. We’ve become who we speak out against.

Right now I’m less concerned with Russia and China, we can address them when the time comes. Winnie XI Pooh and Vladimir Putin can’t jail you or kill you for leaving your house to get a bacon double cheeseburger and some fresh air, but Gavin Newsome and Andrew Cuomo can. I beg you to push back against your state and local governments for over reach and oppression, you might get the sniffles and feel slightly uncomfortable for a few hours, but you also my get to continue to live a free society.

Those spring break kids are modern day hero’s of sorts and don’t even realize it. They pushing back against an over reaching and oppressive government when all they really want is to just want to get wasted and party. They’re exercising one of the most fundamentals rights of living in a free society. Party on kids.
