The constitution states the legislatures of each state appoints the electors. SCOTUS cannot just invalidate the constitution and say states can’t appoint electors or invalidate them. SCOTUS can only tell them to appoint new electors of their choosing. IANAL.

Could be for legal reasons? If he is selling cigars on his show, then his show is not legally liable for anything since it's the opinion of a pundit and not a lawyer on record.

I’m guessing in-person voters filled out a damaged ballot. It didn’t get scanned correctly. Most in-person voters vote for Trump.
