FG could be controlled opposition to CCP. I think it's highly unlikely, but anything is possible. If you talk to people in China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong, those who are opposed to FG, or pro CCP, believe that FG is an American CIA operation. I do not know and can not tell the truth.

My theory is that, CCP realizes that people want religions, culture, and belief. So sometimes in the 2000's, CCP changed it tune, and started embracing traditional Chinese cultures, after having destroyed almost all of it, including books, musical instruments, temples, practices, and definitely beliefs.
CCP's new indoctrination is that Chinese Culture IS CCP, or CCP IS Chinese Cultures. They have re-written history books to insist that Chinese classical thoughts are always Communist in nature, and that CCP is merely a modern expression of traditional, classical Chinese thoughts and philosophies.
To answer your question, Falun Gong is most likely not a CCP plot. Falun Gong maybe using USA as a platform to destroy CCP. By this extension, you can see why Falun Gong supports Trump, or any American that sees CCP for what it really is, a threat to all countries that do not believe in Communism.
Falun Gong a consolidation, rebranding, and repackaging of all Chinese spiritual and cultural beliefs that were forbidden or destroyed by CCP. During the 1980's, CCP realized that Communism wasn't working, and tried to loosen up restrictions, including spiritual practices and beliefs. Falun Gong filled a void that was forbidden for decades. Instead of worshiping The Party, Party Officials, or Communism, people went back to practicing Chinese Taoism, Chi-Qong, Chinese (form of) Buddhism, meditation, and exercises.
As far as I can tell Falun Gong does not conflict with Christianity, in that its practices do not incite killing infidels, lying / hiding your true belief to conquer / subjugate / destroy of non-believers. Falun Gong do not burn templates, mosques, and churches. Most Falun Gong followers place Christian God as one of the highest forms of deities. If this sounds strange, Chinese have traditionally practiced paganism, with many gods occupying different hierarchy.
CCP destroyed Falun Gong because its founder may have expressed political ambitions, or criticized CCP.

CCP members have all sworn oath to destroy CCP's enemies, of which US and Western Europe are explicitly listed as primary enemies. Do not help your friends if you are CCP members. Make their lives here hell, because they are already making Americans' lives hell.
