People seem to forget that Collins and Murkowski have the option of abstaining. The statements they have made indicate that do not believe a vote should be taken before the election. So, they just don't vote. Democrats still stuck at 47. My prediction is the nominee is confirmed 51-47 before Election Day with those two abstaining. Romney will play ball to keep the majority in the Senate. Confirming the nominee is a net win for Senate Republicans come Election Day. See 2016, 2018.
