I used to listen to savage during the Bush and early Obama years (first term), he used to be the third most listened to talk radio show (Rush was first by a mile, then Hannity and he was far ahead of Mark Levin and Glen Beck). He used to be a really good host and I loved how he would eviscerate liberal cuck callers.
Basically he’s been going downhill ever since Obama’s second term. He went to 9pm to Midnight in 2012, then 3-6pm in 2013 (competing with Hannity). In 2019 his show got cut to 2 hours, with only one being aired on radio and the other exclusively on podcast. And at the end of September this year, he lost his hour on radio. He has gone from third in conservative talk radio now to 7th, and now won’t even be on radio.
Savage hated and berated nearly all of his radio colleagues, and all of his colleagues hated him, especially Rush, Hannity, and Mark Levin. Doing stuff like that along with berating your syndicators or rival ones (ex: Westwood One) gets you in essence “black balled”, and that’s what happened to him. He was incredibly jealous of the successes Rush had (even though it was Rush and Paul Harvey who literally paved the way for those like Savage, Levin, and Hannity). He was also jealous of Hannity and Levin’s more recent successes with getting second and third on radio and shows on Fox. It’s honestly pretty sad.
Born while Taft was President, she went on to see 18 others in the office. She lived through World War I, World War II, the entire Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, and the Iraq/Afghanistan War. She was alive for the fall of the Qing Dynasty in 1912 (last dynasty of China), the entirety of the Soviet Union’s existence, the Great Depression, dropping of the first atomic bombs, Cuban Missile Crisis, the moon landings, fall of the Berlin Wall, 9/11, the Great Recession, and now the Covid Pandemic. Women weren’t even able to vote until 7 years after she was born and Civil Rights legislation wasn’t enacted until over 50 years after she was born. She also survived two of her children: John (fuck him) and Jean, both in their eighties, and outlived her husband by almost 40 years. I personally couldn’t imagine having to bury two of my children and my spouse. What a long life.
My girlfriend’s best friend is watching coverage with us. She’s as liberal as you can get but she has tears in her eyes, this is truly a sad and scary time. Praying for the President to have a full recovery, he’s in the hands of the best medical team in the world.
