It was amazing. People of all ages, income levels, walks of life, beliefs and ideals. They weren’t about left versus right, they’re about finding solutions to problems - like our current oppression. These folks are hardcore constitutionalists.
When I showed up some of them were wary of me and I had to kinda convince them I’m cool, but I did and got to meet a lot of interesting people. And they all share something in common with us - they believe the government is oppressing us.
Except these folks are on another level. There are a few legal types and they trained the leader and a few others to fight off police by citing rights and old laws. I had no idea but we don’t actually need drivers’ licenses to drive around in a lot of places in the state I’m in. One of these folks has fought off (verbally) police multiple times from kidnapping (their term for arresting) them and their members. They’ve caused local governments in several counties to re-open various public amenities, and they’re ever-still setting their targets on more areas. I know I’ll be showing up to more of their events. Their end goal is to fight oppression and get rid of all the covid mandates.
I may not agree with several of their members’ spirituality, or their beliefs in reincarnation etc, but it doesn’t matter because we’re both fighting the same enemy.
And there are lots of groups just like this popping up across the nation, I found out. The left is right to fear. The tech oligopoly and MSM is correct to be afraid. We the PEOPLE are rising up, without coordination, out of our own free will and yearning for freedom. We’re Americans damnit and we’ve tasted freedom, and there are plenty of us that won’t just give it up without a deadly fight. None of the people at this group were overtly MAGA. No political gear of any kind. Just straight up constitutionalist patriotism that transcends left v right.
Go out and organize, the politicians are but weak and feeble puppet masters who become useless without their pliant toy of a fearful subservient populace

There were maybe two hundred people. We all held Flags over the overpass and cars stopped on the freeway and backed up traffic so that there were traffic jams right in front of our flags. So many people honking horns, tons of people giving us thumbs-up, plenty of middle fingers too, but that's what mega phones are for. It was a blast. I must have held that flag up for two hours, my shoulders are pretty sore. PSA: if you're going to go to one of these things, bring a pole for your flag so you don't have to hold your shoulders up, and also bring some zip tags in case you decide to attach the flag to a fence so that you don't have to hold. We must have had 50 or more flags at least, maybe a hundred flags flying from the overpass metal wired fence. It was amazing

There's a strategy for handling an anticipated high volume of internet traffic. It's called load testing. It's a very simple concept. Let's say that your website receives 10,000 users every hour regularly. Then logically speaking your website can handle that many users currently. But what if something like the debates happens, and suddenly many more users decide to use your website? That's called a spike in activity, or a spike in internet traffic, or a spike in throughput. You don't actually know if your Software System (like this website) can handle a spike until you experience it. So until you experience it, you don't actually know if your website which normally handles 10,000 users per hour can handle 20,000 users per hour, or 30 thousand users per hour, or even a 10 X increase, a hundred thousand users in an hour.
That's where the load testing comes in.
Load testing is simply the concept of Faking that spike in usage. You simply write a program or script that simulates a user using your website. Then, using some code, you just amplify that by any factor that you wish. So for example, you write some code that simulates a user using your website. Then you say, okay, now run that 100000 times over the course of an hour. That is essentially simulating a 10 times increase in internet traffic assuming of the website normally receives 10,000 visits in an hour.
The key advantage to load testing is that it lets you know with a high degree of confidence that your software system, like this website for example, can handle higher amounts of users.
In the software industry there is a role called software engineer in test. Software engineers in test simply write tests and test systems all day. They are software engineers, who spend all their time engineering testing and pipelines to ensure that the software that they are helping deliver, works. u/doggos - if you want to ensure that come this November 3rd the website is it still usable, I highly suggest that you enlist the help of an experienced software engineer in test who can write you a quick load test.
