That's wrong. The one-vote-per-state provision only applies if the House is selecting a President, and that only happens if no person wins a majority of the electors who voted.

No matter how fucked up things get in California and New York, there will be electors chosen in November in many states by decisive margins and without controversy, and those electors will vote for a President and Vice President on the date set by law (the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December; 3 U.S.C. § 7).

Depends on the state.

Electors are chose by the states utilizing whatever process they like. Yes, today we have general elections in each state. In the future, however, we might have something else.

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, for example, is something else. Under that arrangement, a state will not choose its electors based on the general election in the state. Instead, it will choose electors based on whomever wins the national popular vote (regardless of the results of the state's own vote).

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is so poorly-conceived that a state's electors could, in fact, go to a candidate who wasn't even on that state's ballot.

California law won't necessarily stop the recounts.

Florida law in 2000 required counties to certify their results no later than November 14. Nevertheless, recounts continued until stopped by the Supreme Court on December 9.

The electoral college votes on December 14. Any state that hasn't finished counting and appointed its electors by that date won't be part of the election of the President or Vice President.

Wrong, and reposting this won't make it right.

The current (116th) Congress adjourns on January 2, and the next Congress (the 117th) convenes on January 3. New Congress means a new Speaker of the House. Maybe even a Republican (either because more Republicans win or because left wing states can't certify their results and so the seats remain empty, the prior occupant's term having expired).

Put differently, it's not at all certain that Crazy Nancy will be Speaker of the House when Trump's first term ends at noon on January 20th.

It's also important to remember that the president is elected not by the people but by a majority of the electors chosen by the states. Your vote is to identify the electors (who then elect the president). The president is the person who gets the majority of the electoral votes cast: normally 270 (out of 538). That number need not be 270, however, and it won't be if a state fails to choose electors.

Put differently, California might not count in this year's presidential election.

The Senate can't pick who is in the House of Representatives.

However, Senators and Congressmen are elected by the states.

Some states will hold normal elections with no problems (heck, some states have zero controlavirus rules - South Dakota, for example). Their Senators and Congressmen will return to Washington no problem, and will convene the 117th Congress on January 3.

Put differently, there WILL be a 117th Congress.

Other states will have problems and the election results will be challenged. Depending on the nature of those challenges, they may not send anyone to Washington until months later. I know there's precedent for a congressional seat staying empty at the beginning of a new Congress, but I can't remember who it was...

The electoral college meets on December 14. States will either send their electors, or not. The electors will vote. They can be punished if they do not vote as they're supposed to.

The new Congress counts the votes of the electors on January 6. The candidate with the majority of the votes cast (not necessarily 270) wins. If there's no majority, the the House chooses the President and the Senate chooses the Vice President. See the 12th Amendment.

Fundamentally, this is an argument against voting libertarian instead of republican.

At the end it says:

Voting libertarian ensures those conversations never happen at the government level.

I seriously doubt that, because people who vote libertarian are a tiny minority.

It's the incredibly rare election where the republican loses because of libertarian votes. So rare that I can't think of a serious example.

Republicans lose because of lack of turnout (voter apathy), poor campaigns (lack of messaging), and uninspiring candidates (RINOs).

This is correct.

Jordan refused to take yes for an answer.

Jordan: Do protests spread the virus?

Fauci: All crowds spread the virus.

Jordan: So not protests?

Fauci: All crowds.

Jordan: Yeah, but what about protests?

FFS Congressman. Take the win and move on. All crowds - including crowds of protestors - spread the virus.

You had five minutes. You needed to ask about hydroxychloroquine, about the fatality rate, about the public health costs of shutdowns, and about his prior statements about masks.

Reclaiming my country.

Hive mind? Hardly. More like an isolated pocket of groupthink.

Reddit is a small, insular community of thousands, most of whom are teens and young adults.

It's like asking people hanging out in a college common what they think about world events. A very expensive college where everyone is in debt up to their eyeballs.

I have a medical condition.

Works every time. I only once had to say it twice.

I've never been asked to identify the condition.

Two wrongs...

More to the point, it's not necessary for a card. A card doesn't have to go into the mailbox. Wedge it next to the flag, in the hinge, or in the door...

Correction. It's actually **testicular **cancer.

Done a long time ago.

Occasionally see reddit comments in search results (providing an answer to some obscure question). Rarely are they correct.

Reddit has nothing to offer. It's worse than Facebook.

Here's a link to the speech as prepared for delivery.

One excerpt:

The People’s Republic of China is now engaged in an economic blitzkrieg—an aggressive, orchestrated, whole-of-government (indeed, whole-of-society) campaign to seize the commanding heights of the global economy and to surpass the United States as the world’s preeminent superpower. A centerpiece of this effort is the Communist Party’s “Made in China 2025” initiative, a plan for PRC domination of high-tech industries like robotics, advanced information technology, aviation, and electric vehicles. Backed by hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies, this initiative poses a real threat to U.S. technological leadership. Despite World Trade Organization rules prohibiting quotas for domestic output, “Made in China 2025” sets targets for domestic market share (sometimes as high as 70 percent) in core components and basic materials for industries such as robotics and telecommunications. It is clear that the PRC seeks not merely to join the ranks of other advanced industrial economies, but to replace them altogether.

Step 1: Stop using Facebook.

Step 2: There is no step 2.

Step 3: Profit.

In my location, where masks have been required for a long time, there's no better than a 50% compliance rate. Everyone knows that masks are plandemic theater and, just like with TSA, we just go through the motions in order to move on with our lives.

There's also an enormous amount of phantom Trump support. November 3 can't get here fast enough.

The Annual Report of the American Association of Poison Control Centers' National Poison Data System reported 50,294 single exposures to acetaminophen alone in 2018, and 17,377 single exposures to acetaminophen in combination with other drugs. Acetaminophen exposure alone resulted in 110 deaths, and acetaminophen combinations resulted in 31 deaths.

Acetaminophen is Tylenol.

Arguing is a huge mistake.

The people confronting you in public not only can't have their minds changed, but they want the confrontation.

You without your mask is the message. They undermine it by provoking you into a confrontation, and then characterizing you as unhinged. It's a classic Marxist technique. Don't fall for it.

Sir, please wear a mask.

Response #1. Ignore them. Keep moving.

Response #2. "Fuck off." Keep moving.

Response #3. "I have a medical condition." Keep moving.

Don't engage beyond that. Don't argue. Don't try to change their mind.

Keep moving.

The RNC needs to take a strong and public stand on this.

The news is fake. The reports are untrustworthy. The virus is not only under control, but a very minor threat.

Delegates and convention attendees have the freedom to choose to attend or not.

However, the convention will go on. Period.
