Economy power is the basic of military power and other power, China and Chinese people have taken America as their No.1 competitor for decades, but US is busy dealing with Middle East after 911 for almost a decade, and then financial crisis, generally US did not treat China as its No.1 competitor or threat for the past 2 decades, so after joining WTO at 2001, China took advantage of this less hostile environment, mass produce and save money and reinvest, grown a deep stretch into America society. I don't think China will have military conflict with US on US soil, but definitely, destroy American economy is their Long term goal. American people right now are been forced by media to focus on racial, gender... all kinds of trivial things, I think more people should realized China is a threat, the two ideologies are incompatible. Majority of Chinese support their government, because life is becoming better each year, and people never thought they should have the right to voter or been voted, so, if Chinese internet firewall is been broken, many Chinese people will be able to read foreign news, watch videos, then they might get some sense what does democracy and free speech looks like.
