I have been dealing with, at work, federal contractors with federal approval inventing new interpretations of longstanding federal regulations and rules. These people have almost zero experience in the field, and utterly ignorant of the regulations. They wantonly misinterpret clear and established rules and standards and use arbitrary criteria they refuse to specify or explIn. It is disgusting and there is no avenue of relief or protest. I've dealt with it my whole career but it has continued to get worse and worse as the years pass. The bureaucracy of the US government is a giant, evil machine and needs to be gutted and rebuilt with as minimal power and influence as possible.
