I've been following wikileaks for a while and then when the internet got shut off at the Ecuadorian embassy in London I went on reddit for r/conspiracy but saw T_D routinely hitting the front page. I stayed a lurker because the power that those emails hinted at was something else. And then the ranking algorithm got changed on reddit specifically because of T_D. lol
To anyone outside our country who has lived with corruption it is obvious what happened here. I now know Trump is the real deal because if he was an insider he wouldn't be attacking their main tool of oppression - election rigging and voter fraud.
Glenn Greenwald said it best. Most "journalists" are actually socialites. They rub shoulders with the right people, get invited to dinners, art shows and parties because their "activism" (read: pushing a narrative), rising quickly through the ranks of establishment media. All of this takes place in cities, and is probably why they are liberal strong holds. If you have the "correct" political opinion in a city like New York and are vocal about it you will start rubbing shoulders with other artists and political activists. If you're more "#woke" than others you'll ascend the dominance hierarchy and find yourself at an art gallery rubbing shoulders with the liberal elite. This is why city's are always blue, no one wants to put a cap on their social mobility so they signal to others that they're in the "in" group.
