She didn't bring it. It said "United States Senate." It's a pad they leave there in case the person being interviewed needs it to take notes.

Actually, I don't think that's what he said. He talked about Democrats continuing to discover additional votes after the election, claiming that ignoring them is disenfranchising people. We already voted in person, but now in the weeks after the election, the Democrats are fucking around.

Just like before, they will show this lead tightening before election day. This is an attempt to make sure their base will still come out and vote. It's gotta start out wide, though, if it's gonna narrow. The narrative now can't be that it's close, because Trump is going to outwork Biden like crazy for the next three weeks.

That's a lot different than something that's likely an off-handed and ill-thought comment by a campaign worker.

Oh, I'll bet they did. Excellent way to give antibodies to the entire White House.

If we had only shut down for two weeks to slow the spread, we would all have this immunity right now. We'd be past the pandemic, and nobody else would be dying. How many more people are going to die because we shut down the country? How much extra damage to the economy? How many more mental health issues are we creating? It's fucking ridiculous.

They don't want to advance treatments. They don't want the vaccine. They don't want therapeutics. They don't want to use anti-malarial drugs. They don't want people to make up their own minds. They just want everyone to stay home and go insane until they riot. This is insanity.

I wish just one of my friends would do this. It would be refreshing. (Blue State)

I mean, that one was Benjamin Franklin.

So, this goes back a while, but it was Barack Obama's healthcare summit. After he got elected in 2008, he brought everyone together to talk about healthcare. Republicans wanted two things for their base: tort reform, and allowing insurance to operate over state lines. Obama seemed to have promised a post-partisan Washington, if he were elected. Yet, he didn't want to give these things to the Republicans. If he had, the GOP couldn't say no, as their donors wanted those things very badly. However, Obama cited the OMB which said that these changes would not provide any net positive revenue, and stood on that as why they were not worth doing. This infuriated the Republicans and ushered in the era of opposition that the left so often cites as racism.

I never figured out why he didn't compromise on that, but I guess now I realize it's because he really never gave a shit about America. In 2012, I held my nose and voted for Obama again because the other option was Mitt Romney. I was all-in for Trump the moment he came down the escalator, and he has not disappointed so far.

Except that it's not prison, it's juvenile detention. There's a huge difference.

That means that the only thing left is the third debate, which is in the same format as the first. The second debate would have been a town hall style, with real people asking questions.

I guess it would all be fixed no matter what, though... but until this, they had delayed the 2nd debate by a week with the 3rd up in the air. Now they've cancelled the 2nd and the 3rd is still on-schedule. They were different formats.

If you search his case number on the county website, it will tell you all of the filings, rulings, and notes for the case. If you look through the history, you can see a special media access request a couple of days before his previous hearings. I can only imagine that means the Zoom authorization. It's possible all of these hearings were scheduled in-person before being ordered to Zoom a couple days before.

I would expect that every day they are ordering cases into Zoom. It seems they have to make a determination on each one individually. They've done Kyle's a couple days out. Since Oct 30 is before the election, my guess is that they will still be doing virtual hearings at that time. Check the day before, and expect them to start promptly at 9:30 AM.

Read my other reply to this post. I don't know that you can send packages. If you're interested in books, however, you might be able to donate some books to the juvenile detention facility. Then Kyle would have access to them. They have an administration phone number in that handbook I posted, and you may be able to call them and ask questions like that.

Here's the information given to his parents:

http://19thcircuitcourt.state.il.us/DocumentCenter/View/2310/Parent-Handbook-English

Your child may receive as many letters that are sent to him/her; all stamps will be removed. In their presence, the letters will first be opened and scanned (not read) by staff.

The address is provided. I would expect that if you wrote a letter, he would get it. I don't know how they could tell who sent it, nor does it say that only the parents can send them.

Keep in mind, he's in juvenile detention so he is not in prison. The detention center provides for all of his needs, including education. I can't imagine how he wouldn't appreciate any letter he got.

Right now, Kyle is sitting in a juvenile detention facility. It's a huge difference from the adult population he'll be thrown into in Milwaukee. There's also fuckery afoot in Milwaukee. If they can prevent extradition, then Kyle is immediately free to go. If they extradite him, he will sit in detention sometime in Milwaukee until he appears before a judge and bond can be posted. I do not know the timeline on that, but I do know that Wisconsin does not have a "normal" cash bond law. They have a surety system by which I think someone in Wisconsin has to vouch for him and post the money. I'm not a lawyer, I don't live in Wisconsin, and my initial research didn't find any clear answers about it.

I would expect that Kyle has already discussed this with his lawyer. I would expect that his lawyer may even have more reasons for delaying extradition. I don't know how this makes him an asshole.

Evidence will be presented, witnesses interviewed, and arguments made as to why Kyle should or shouldn't be extradited to Wisconsin. It is unknown if there will be a ruling on that date regarding extradition.
