I almost had jury duty once, and looked up ways of getting out of it. Obviously skipping out is a big no-no. Acting belligerent during the selection process will also get you into hot water.
The best way of getting out, or so I read, is bringing up jury nullification. Make sure to specifically bring that up and ask the judge to confirm that right.
I also read if you specify that you are an engineer or a scientist or some kind of STEM field, they don’t like that either, as these folks tend to be logical and prosecutors want people who are emotional.
