Went to dinner tonight here in Florida. Even though the door of the restaurant asked people to wear a mask until you get to your table, the entire lobby was packed and no one was wearing a mask. Proud of the people in my state saying no to that!
Peterstrzoked - do what you have to do! I have taught for over 21 years and have seen it all. Medicine is not for everyone and not every student with ADD needs to be medicated, but there are some students who are truly handicapped in that they can not make it without it. I have taught many students like your son over the years and refusing medicine to those who truly need it is like telling a handicapped person they should be able to walk without a wheelchair. Physiological effects of ADHD can be so severe in some students that they just can't function without help. As a middle/high school teacher, I know what some people are suggesting to you is not helpful. You know your child better than anyone, so just keep on giving him what he needs!
Unfortunately they are old and believe whatever they hear on Fox. Trying to redpill as many of them as I can, but they just don't want to take the time to search out real information/news. These are the same people who were apathetic in the 60's, 70's, and 80's while the dems infiltrated our colleges with liberal professors and moved our country hard to the left. As long as they had their safe jobs, 401k's, and retirement on the horizon that was all they cared about.
Both my husband and my son are civil engineers. Everyone in construction got burned during those years. Tons of people were laid off and those that remained were expected to do the job of three people. No one could get work as there were no jobs to be had. The saddest part of having this election stolen is what effect it will have on people who need to work, but can't, because these evil people will kill off all the jobs and ruin our economy. The Obama years were torture.
Unfortunately, the only time they will decide to get involved is when it is too late, and they have let their way of life get taken from them. Sadly, that is how our country got this far down the road in the first place.
^THIS. Rightfully deserved a ticket for speeding this year but opened a large can of southern manners on the officer and used them liberally. Said yes sir, no sir, yes officer, etc. after every question he asked. He just gave me a verbal warning and let me go!
No kidding. Now with all of the discount places you can buy used books, the colleges try to keep which books professors are using a secret right up until classes start to try and make students buy from the book store to have them in time. Forget that - students will go without books for a week to save $200 per book.
This is what I have done with my family several times over the years, especially after a heated election. I don't "announce" a separation, so they don't obsess over my absence. I just take a step back and don't call or visit as much. Just enough communication that they can't accuse me of abandoning the family, but a large amount of space in between contact.
Right behind you. Filled the deep freeze today and bought extra propane for the grill and gas for the generator. Floridian - so batteries, lanterns, etc. are always on hand. Just need some extra water, and I'm good to go.
