The problem with php that will never go away is it's fundamental design (or lack thereof). Once a project has too many hands in it with minimal oversight, it can quickly become a shitshow due to lack of enforcement of design principals and architecture. It takes a smart developer to keep php maintainable and not a spaghetti mess. Upside is like you said, easy to stand up and get something running.
I believe it is, my prior response was wrong. It doesnt appear to be owned by a tech giant, but the company founder's previous company was bought by Twitter, and Jack Dorsey seems to have some influence with them. Take it with a a grain of salt.
I voted for him - spoke with him after the election too (just happened to run into him at a car wash), and he was quite livid about the results seeming unlikely. He said he only got 6 more votes than the first time he ran. Literally only 6, yet Washington county voted >50% red. We're being ruined by progressives..
